Dawn Zinicola July 12, 1965 - January 16, 2021

Cynthia “Dawn” Zinicola

Dawn Zinicola of Lynnwood, Washington passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on January 16th, 2021 at the Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, Washington. Dawn was born July 12th, 1965 in Corpus Christi, Texas and in December of 1967 was adopted into the Zinicola family. She graduated from Seattle Christian School in 1983. She went on to have a long career at the Boeing Company, and more recently worked at Lynnwood Auto Licensing. In 1986 she gave birth to her only child, daughter Corey Zinicola.

Dawn bravely battled cancer since March of 2020, with Corey by her side every step of the way. She was surrounded by the love of family and friends the entire time, and the last month of her life was even more full of love and cherishing every single moment with her.

She will be remembered for her great sense of humor; her kind, loving and generous spirit; by the way she always loved her daughter with an unconditional, selfless love; and her obvious love for Snoopy.

Dawn is preceded in death by her parents Anthony J Zinicola and Helen A Zinicola of Normandy Park, Washington.
She is survived by her daughter Corey Zinicola; sister Karen Weaver; brothers Tony, Mark, and Ray Zinicola; nephews John and Michael Weaver, and Mathew Zinicola; nieces Candis, Rachael, and Carmen Zinicola; as well as great-neices and great-nephews.

Dawn will be sent onto her next great adventure from her favorite spot on the beach in Grayland, Washington on January 30th, 2021. Family and friends will be in attendance to witness the spreading of her ashes and relay their love for Dawn.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in her honor to the Woodland Park Zoo (one of her favorite places to go) or donate to the GoFundMe set up to help Corey in this time of transition (can be found by searching the GoFundMe site with Corey’s full name).

I had the chance to work with Dawn for a while at Nintendo. She was an absolutely wonderful person, and I am so glad I had the chance to know her. May she rest in power.
