She attended Glen Echo grade school and graduated from Mount Baker High in 1941. She married Vernon Edwin Edin in Bellingham, WA on July 31, 1947. He was the love of her life and they moved to the family farm on the Telegraph Road where she spent 75 years. Vernon proceeded her in death in 1992.

They raised three children on the farm:

Cheyenne married Stephen Huot in 1994 and they gave them their first great-granddaughters, Devan (1997) and Jordyn (1999). In 2004 Brandon married Zoe (dv) and Violet (2007) joined the family. Jayme married Jamie Potocnik in 2014, and they have three sons, adding three more great grandsons: Diesel (2015) and twins, Kash and Jax (2018).  Randy still lives on the family farm with his fiancé Roxann.

In 1957, Brian was born. He married the girl up the hill, Carolyn Hardin, in 1982. They are the proud parents of mom and dad’s trio of granddaughters: Coral (1983) Amber (1986) and Heather (1988). Coral married Jason McKay  (2019) and they have a son, Gavin (2020) who got to meet and be held by his great-grandma when they visited the family farm in May.

Mom loved the farm in Nooksack, (which was a full time job), where she spent many years baking and cooking. She owned the Everson Bakery, with her sister-in-law Coral, cooked for Spuds in Sumas and retired from the Nooksack Valley School District as the head cook at the Grade School in Everson. Cooking was not just a hobby to her, she actually loved to do it, and you could always get a cup of coffee and some of her many sweet delights every time you stopped by the farm to say hi. And if you arrived at meal time, there was always enough to eat so you could count on getting full, and dessert too. Family and time well spent were of utmost importance, and she showed that in the many gatherings of family and friends at the farm.

Mom sewed, never letting her machine cool off before she had another project in the works. Making school clothing for all of her children. Many birthday and Christmas presents were created on her sewing machine–bears, matching sweatshirts for ALL the grandkids, bunnies with big floppy ears and much, much more. Mom was also an avid gardener, both landscape and vegetable. She also played the piano, organ and accordion and showed a love of music by excelling in singing all the words of any old song, she especially enjoyed all the hymns.
Mom and dad attended the Nooksack Valley Assembly of God church and gave their hearts to Jesus, and we know they are dancing around the throne in Heaven. They met at Dammtown, you know!

There will be a family graveside service at the Nooksack Cemetery on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life, will be on Sunday, August 14th, 2:00pm, at Valley Church, 904 Nooksack Ave. Nooksack, WA, followed by a light snack in the fellowship hall.

That if you declare with your mouth, “that Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:9-10 NIV
