Richard (Dick) Earle Osgood November 24, 2024

In Loving Memory of Richard (Dick) Earle Osgood

Richard (Dick) Earle Osgood, born on March 6, 1950, in Monroe, Michigan, peacefully left this world on December 5, 2023, in Edmonds, WA surrounded by his family at the age of 73. Richard, or Dick as he was affectionately known, was a man of remarkable character and warmth who could strike up a conversation with anybody (and everybody).

A dedicated and hardworking father, Dick spent over 40 years as a Produce Manager, leaving his mark on grocery stores such as Mayfair, Tradewell, Red Apple, Fred Meyer, and more. His passion for cultivating a vibrant life extended beyond the produce aisle. Dick had a love for music that resonated throughout his home – a radio in every room and an extensive library of cherished vinyl records. His hands were equally skilled in woodworking, landscaping, and home improvements, hobbies that brought him immense joy.

Dick’s heart was expansive, reaching beyond his professional pursuits and hobbies. A proud father, he coached his son’s baseball teams, leaving a lasting impact on young lives. His commitment to family extended to his faith as a devoted parishioner of Holy Rosary in Edmonds, WA.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Jane Osgood; daughter Stephanie Caughell and son-in-law Jeremy Caughell; son John Osgood and daughter-in-law Michele Osgood; grandchildren Camryn Caughell and Lucien Osgood; siblings Leland (Mick) Osgood, Gail Ludig, Gretchen Blanchette, Martha (Marti) Henry, and Tim Osgood. Dick also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Richard Osgood was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and James Osgood.

A celebration of Dick’s life will take place on January 12, 2024, at 2:30 pm at Holyrood Cemetery (205 NE 20th St., Shoreline WA 98155), followed by a reception at The Nile Country Club at 3 pm (6601 244th St SW, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043).

For those who wish to share special memories or photos for a slideshow, please send them to Michele Osgood at michele@californiamuralart.com by January 5, 2024.

Dick will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Jane, Steph, John and families, we are very sorry for your loss. I will always remember Dick, in his chair asking us questions as kids as we were heading out to a football game or event and at our softball games cheering us on. Osgood family is a special family, full of love! Love you all!
