Burt Peabody October 22, 1935 - September 2, 2024

Burthon (Burt) A. Peabody passed away at his home on September 2, 2024 with his loving wife, Linda, by his side. Burt was born in 1935 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Oscar and Irene Peabody. In 1954 Burt’s family moved to Seattle where Burt went to work for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer (which later merged with the Seattle Times) as pressman for the next 45 years. Burt was an oddity in the pressroom as he never drank or smoked. He only drank Coca-Cola and always wore Levis and boots, both on and off the job.

He served in the U.S. Army form 1958-1960. In the early 70s Burt moved to Maltby where he also became a volunteer firefighter for 25 years with Snohomish County District #7, Clearview Station.

In his early years Burt loved to fish, hunt and camp. He had a RV camper and in 1965 purchased a new Harley Davidson Electra Drive. He loved the horse races going to Longacres on his Harley. In 1981 he met and married his wife Linda. Luckily Linda like horseracing also. Linda and Burt moved to Lake Stevens in 1998. They traveled around the country as well as Europe. In later years Burt liked playing slot machines at all of the local casinos.

Burt is survived by his beloved wife Linda of 43 years and Stepson Gerrald D. Logan of Lake Stevens. Burt also is survived by several nieces and nephews.
