Elbert Kenneth Bates, known to most as Ken, was born on February 20, 1943 in Lordsburg, New Mexico and died on October 19, 2024 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was 81 years old.
Ken served in the United States Air Force and later went on to work for Boeing. He worked for Boeing for many years as an engineer. Ken was fascinated by aviation. Ken also served in Civil Air Patrol for many years.
Ken is survived by his three children, five grandchildren and his second wife, Donna Koch. Ken’s children are: Kimberly Galde and her husband Chris, Paula Kieland and her husband Christopher, Kenny Bates and his wife Michelle. Ken’s five grandchildren; McKinley Olson, Kian Olson, Pepper Bates, Kennedy Galde and Olaf Bates. He is also survived by siblings; Doris McIntosh, Paula Gould and Gary Bates.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Norine Bates and his first wife of 55 years, Lenora Elizabeth (Beth) Bates.
Services will be held on November 16, 2024 at 11am at 92nd Street Church Of Christ located at 4226 92nd ST NE Marysville, WA 98270
