Our family is sad to announce the passing of our loving wife/mother/grandmother and great grandmother, Shirley Ann Hallgren. Shirley finally left her painful health issues behind and went from the loving arms of her family into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on November 7, 2018. Her bright and beautiful smile will be greatly missed.
Shirley was born to Pearl and Wilma Davidson in Garden City, Kansas on July 9, 1936 and moved to the Seattle area in her teenage years where she met her husband of 62 years, Dale Hallgren. They settled in Seattle and raised their daughters in a neighborhood with friends they kept in touch with Shirley’s entire life.
Before she retired, Shirley worked as a receptionist and a water aerobics instructor and had many interests, including painting, beadwork and macramé.
Once Shirley retired, she and Dale traveled the country in their R.V. visiting all 50 states and making friends wherever they went. They made their home base Happy Trails Resort in Surprise, AZ where they lived near neighbors from their Seattle home and made new neighbor friends.
Nothing was more important to Shirley than family. She is survived by Dale, their two daughters, Denise Galloway and Debra Ryan (Doug), her grandchildren Carly Jellyman (David), Shaina Guy (Jeff), Brianna Protzeller (Josh), Nathan Galloway and her great grandchildren Emma Neff, Gryffin Guy, Jude Jellyman, Liam Jellyman, Archer Guy, Samuel Jellyman, Oliver Jellyman and Waylon Protzeller.
In lieu of a funeral there will be a memorial service in the coming summer to honor her life. Please make a donation in Shirley’s honor to your favorite charity.
