Joleen Adah Brown February 9, 1940 - March 19, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joleen Adah Brown on March 19, 2019 at the age of 79.

Joleen was born in Everett to Merle and Ethyl Lee and lived all but a few years of her life there. She truly cared about youth and loved giving back to the community. During the 1970’s, when her children were young, she was heavily involved in cub scouts and PTA (PTSA) working to create a subsidized hot lunch program for low income families, a memorial for an elementary student and raising funds through a Bounce -a-Thon for an electric wheelchair so a young woman could attend college. Alongside her husband of 53 years, George, she was an active supporter of the American Legion Post 6. Through her decades of service she organized many 4th of July parades and fireworks shows, raised funds for students to attend Boys and Girls State and procured donations and funds to make sure every challenged person at Fircrest received a Christmas present. In 1979? she was presented with the Gene Kimball Award for Outstanding Service to Youth and Community.

Joleen was predeceased by her parents, brothers Dennis and Errol, sisters Linda and Judy, step-children Christopher and Kenda, and in 2017 her best friend and beloved husband George.

She was the loving mother of Michele (Gary) Osborne, Robert Brown and Michael ( Lea) Brown. Joleen was also a proud grandmother to Kesha (Mike) Etzwiler, Nick (Sarah) Beeson, Elisha (Garrett) Osborne, Kayleigh Anderson, Heather (Beau) Sutherland, Kyran Brown, Mikalyn Brown, Celine (Ray) Mehaffey and very proud great-grandmother to Olivia, Gabriel, Aspen, Cody, Alexis and Isabelle.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 1, 2019 at the VFW in Everett at 12:00pm.
