Audrey Katherine Wilhelm: beloved wife, devoted mother, loving Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend; was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on January 5, 2019 while surrounded by her adoring family. Born May 15, 1934 as Audrey Katherine Straws, in Catawba Wisconsin, Audrey was the youngest of thirteen brothers and sisters. She grew up in the foothills of Mount Rainier (Ashford WA) and graduated from Lincoln High School, Tacoma WA. She and her husband of nearly sixty-three years, Larry Wilhelm, married on May 18, 1956. They moved to Michigan and raised three children (Bruce, Sherrie, & Bryan). She graduated with a nursing degree from Lansing Community College and served as a nurse for twenty years. Her passions were taking care of others, teaching Sunday School, being Children’s Ministry Director and serving as a Pastor’s wife. In retirement years she and Larry returned to the Northwest to be closer to family living in Marysville, WA for the last twenty-two years.
She will be most remembered for her passion of loving on people. She enjoyed creating special memories and celebrating birthdays, half birthdays, holidays, and special events for those she loved. A woman of deep compassion, she always seemed to know what to say and how to comfort those who were hurting. Audrey loved unconditionally.
Her greatest joy came in pouring herself into her Grandchildren: Megan (Andrew), Matthew, Aimee (David), Kirsten, Lauren, Jamie, and Great Grand Children: Emma, Ezra, William, Kora, Owen and Brandon.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Ethel Straws, ten siblings, Grandson’s Enoch and Nathan Speller. She is survived by her husband; Larry Wilhelm, Children; Bruce (Tammy) Wilhelm, Sherrie (Christopher) Speller, Bryan Wilhelm, three Siblings, Phyllis, Aldon and Violet, six Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.
