David Adair Hughes, born on December 28th, 1942 departed this earthly life December 19th, 2022 at the age of 79. Lovingly know as “Pa” by his family, he leaves behind his wife of sixty years Karon, sons Tim and Craig, daughter in-law Alease and grandchildren Zach, Kate, Sarah and Julia.
Born in Tyler Texas to parents Robert and Mary and oldest brother to Steve, Caroline and Mark, David joined the Naval Reserves as a teenager and later went into the Air Force. After leaving military service he worked for Texas Power and Light in Tyler until he moved his family to Colorado in 1970 to begin a long and successful career in the automotive industry. Fifty years later he and wife Karon moved to Granite Falls Washington to live with his son Craig.
A tender hearted man he loved children and animals, enjoyed playing golf and watching football. Always friendly, caring and generous, David was easy to make friends of all ages. An avid runner, David participated in many races throughout his lifetime. A passion which he passed on to his son Tim and granddaughter Sarah.
Mourned by many, he is gone but never forgotten. We love you, Pa. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
