Dennis Arthur Wilson passed away January 9, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph, his sister Arlene White, his mother Julia Wilson and his father Arthur Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna of 59 years, his loving daughters Denise Falvo (Michael), Christine Urban, Susan Turner, and Cheryl Sitko (Henry). He was a loving grandpa to Cullen, Brandon, Anton, Kallyn and Lauren. He was a special father to Tony. He will also be missed by his brothers Richard (Ailyn) and Arthur (Gayle) and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis grew up in Chicago and attended Tilden Tech and later IIT. He tinkered with cars and engines and purchased a 1963 red Corvette with his brother. That car began his love of Corvettes. He later built, restored and raced them. He was a president of the Chicago Corvette Club. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. He went on several wilderness trips to Canada and later took his family to a great Canadian resort so they could experience the outdoors he loved. He and his brothers shared many hunting and fishing days throughout the years. He met Donna at the company where they both worked and they married in 1965 and lived in Chicago.
The ‘70s saw a move to McHenry, Illinois where Dennis built a house on a five acre wooded property. It was a beautiful spot to raise his family; a nature filled place. During this time he worked as a sales rep for a manufacturing company. He later opened his own business, became president of a stamping plant and then got interested in computers, acquiring three patents in computer processes. He even did computer graphics and enjoyed helping people with their projects. That led him to become the Chairman of the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals for several years. Among his hobbies were flying model planes and helicopters, woodworking, making furniture for family and of course, taking care of his yard and grass, where he took great pride.
In 2006 he and Donna moved to the Seattle area where they eventually settled in Marysville to be near family. He became interested in family genealogy and tracked his ancestors. Photography was also a longtime love.
He is missed and remembered fondly by all.
