Gertrude Kazen, 95, of Arlington, WA, passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on September 2, 2021.
She was born June 8, 1926 to Tony and Cora Leenders of Everson, WA. She married Don (Bud) Kazen on March 19, 1946 in Bellingham, WA and they enjoyed 64 years together. They raised two boys and two girls on their family farm on State Route 530 near Island Crossing.
She was a faithful member of the Arlington Gospel Hall and loved to be with the Christians there. Her home was always open to anyone who would stop by for a visit or a meal. Her joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to play games and we will all cherish those memories.
She is survived by her sister Evelyn, brother, Bill, son, Phil (Sharon) Kazen of Marysville: daughters, Karen Kazen of Marysville, and Mary (Dan) Scheppele, of Arlington; daughter-in-law Donna Kazen of Arlington, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and may nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, 5 brothers, her sister Alice, her son Gaius and two great-grandsons.
A public graveside service will be held at the Arlington cemetery, 20310-67 th Ave. NE, Arlington, at 1 PM, September 9. A memorial service will be at 2:30 on September 9 at the Arlington Gospel Hall, 323 S. Stillaguamish Ave., Arlington, followed by refreshments.
