Jennifer Frost, Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend
Jennifer was born in the Emerald City on the auspicious day of April 13, 1944. She was the 5th and final child born to Bella and Arva LeRoy Mathis, and the pride of the family. Her childhood was spent in the North City area with many idyllic summers spent with family at “the ranch” in White Bird, Idaho.
Some accomplishments in Jennifer’s life after graduating from Lincoln High School in 1962 were: Member of Job’s Daughters, joined a 200 bowling league, attended the 1962 World’s Fair
in Seattle, was crowned Miss Wallingford, and worked at Boeing.
She married her husband of nearly 60 years on February 6, 1965, and shortly thereafter they welcomed their three children, Darryn, Corey, and Andrea. When her kids were young, she was
focused on teaching them to read and write, fostering a love of music and the arts, encouraging team sports, and filling their lives with numerous adventures, such as camping, hiking, and
boating, to name a few.
Jennifer had numerous hobbies and prided herself on achieving a high level of skill in many of them. She always had a love of gardening, with a focus on landscaping, which ultimately led her
to achieve the title of Master Gardener. She started a stained glass business and worked on projects for people and businesses throughout the region. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and
quilting, which led her to join a quilting guild in McMinnville, OR. Artistic sand-blasting was something she became adept at with a focus on multi-plane renderings in glass. Additionally,
she enjoyed painting, bowling, family camping, biking, and water and snow skiing. Jennifer also ran multiple marathons in her forties, competed for years in senior softball and volleyball
leagues and even learned some finish carpentry skills.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Gary Frost, sister Bella Rae Yost, brother Richard Mathis, sons Darryn Frost (Marne) and Corey Frost (Laura), daughter Andrea Frost,
grandchildren Chrystal Frost, Morgan Frost-Peterson (Woody), Jared Frost, Sophia Frost (Riley), and great-grandchildren Elliot and Soren Frost-Peterson. Our beloved Mom will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
