John Aquinas Jimerson (1959-2018)
John Jimerson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 20 1959, and passed away from complications related to cancer on November 11, 2018.
John worked as a city planner for Port Angeles, Lake Stevens and most recently, the City of Everett, Washington. He graduated from Kearns High School, the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and the University of Washington with a Master’s in Urban Planning, Seattle. He wed Cathy Tanasse in 1997.
John and Cathy traveled extensively in Europe. Planning and researching their travel destinations was an immense source of joy for him. He was a talented photographer and musician. He loved his family, books, and nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanne and George Jimerson. He is survived by his wife, Cathy, daughter, Elizabeth Wu, his siblings, Chris, Joe, and Kay Jimerson; stepmother, Evelyn Jimerson; and two cats and three dachshunds, including his beloved Wallie Dog.
A graveside service on November 26th will be held at Machias Community Cemetery (1201 Silva St., Snohomish WA 98290) at 3:00, followed by a celebration of John’s life at the Machias Community Church (1615 Virginia St., Snohomish WA 98290).
A second celebration will take place in Salt Lake, Utah at a later date.
