Margery “Margie” Wyatt passed away on June 14, 2021, after a brief illness.
Margie was a voracious reader, instilling in her children a life-long love of reading. As well as the never-ending stacks of espionage novels, her home was filled with music and laughter. The weeks preceding her passing consisted of watching musicals and music videos at a volume that allowed them to be heard clearly throughout the house, with many a dance party around her bed.
She has been described by her former colleagues as a force and a powerhouse, which cannot be denied. Margie made sure that the generations of girls who came after her knew and believed that “we are women, we are strong.” And, she was.
Margery was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ronald, and her daughter, Lee Ann. She is survived by her daughter Carrie and her son Kenneth, as well as her granddaughter Chelsi and great-granddaughter Melody. Family was of the utmost importance to her, and spending the pandemic quarantined with all of her girls was a great joy to her. As Chelsi said, “I’ve had the time of my life,” a song often heard in Margie’s final days.
Margie wanted her girls to ‘have a party’ to celebrate her life. This will be a private soiree with lots of very loud music and dancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Everett Community College Food Pantry.
