Ricky Lee Petersen February 1, 1957 - February 9, 2025

Ricky Lee Petersen aka Rick, age 68, of Seattle, WA, passed away on February 9th, 2025.   Born on February 1st, 1957 in Seattle, WA, Rick was the son of Edin and Beatrice.

Growing up, Ricky was known for his kind heart and love for animals. His sisters recall him always stepping in to help others or rescue an injured animal and rehab it back to health.

Rick and Laurie shared 14 years together, including 8 years of marriage filled with fond memories of family gatherings at home, camping trips, boating, and visits to Hawaii. Rick will always be remembered as someone who would give the shirt off his back, constantly helping those in need—especially his family—while running a successful construction business and touching the lives of many.

Rick was a construction and automotive entrepreneur who was celebrated for his hard work and dedication to his career. He handled blueprints like no one else and eventually transitioned to automotive, where he restored classic vehicles to their former glory. Family and friends will remember him for his love of riding bikes (Harley Davidson Custom Road Glider) freely on the open road, being the “life of the party,” or enjoying spontaneous nights out that sometimes ended with a new tattoo.

Rick is survived by his only child/daughter, Samantha Petersen; His two grandchildren Samiah and Lavelle; his ex-wife Laurie, and her eldest daughter Sonya. His mother Molly Bea (Tom) of Lucerne Valley, CA; his three sisters Ronda, Rose, and Robin, countless nieces and nephews, and a long list of friends and foes. Rick was preceded in death by his father Edin, and his beloved nephew Ezekiel, aka Zeke, aka Geke.

A celebration of Rick’s life has not yet been organized. Instead of flowers or donations, you can plant a memorial tree at  https://www.plantmemorialtree.com/. If anyone has fond memories or pictures of Rick that they would like to share, please send them to petty.petersen.projects@gmail.com
