In Loving Memory of Thomas E. Forsman
Tom Forsman, age 82, passed away April 24, 2024 at his home with his wife Diane by his side.
Tom Forsman was a loving and devoted husband to Diane, a very loving father to his precious son Kevin and a proud grandfather to his grandchildren Dylan and Dee Dee.
Tom was born to Erland and Lola Forsman and grew up in Arlington. He had five siblings Larry, Carol, Mike, Kandace and Jef. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1960.
After graduation Tom went to work for the Seattle Post Intelligencer in Seattle. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Diane Stehr in 1963. They had one son Kevin born in 1969.
Later in 1969 Tom went to work for KJR Radio in Seattle as an Account Executive. In 1971 Tom was offered a transfer to their sister station KJRB radio in Spokane which led to a long career in media sales in both radio and television including positions as sales manager and general manager. Tom loved his years working in media sales. All the wonderful people he met along the way, unforgettable experiences and cherished memories made his life very rewarding.
Tom and Diane made their home in Spokane for the next 36 years. During those years Tom’s life revolved around their son Kevin, playing league tennis, spending winters snow skiing and summers boating on Lake Coeur d’Alene, Priest Lake, and Lake Pend Orielle until building their lake cabin on Hayden Lake, Idaho. Over the years Tom and Diane also enjoyed travelling especially cruising with many fond memories of countries visited.
After retiring, Tom and Diane moved back to Arlington to be closer to their beloved son and his family as well as many other family members. They were devastated when they lost their son Kevin to cancer in 2018 but so grateful for the years of enjoyment they had had together after moving back to Arlington and being a big part of their grandchildren’s lives as they grew up.
Tom was also preceded in death by his parents Erland and Lola Forsman, brothers Larry and Mike Forsman, sister Kandace Lund and sister in law Edeen Kelley. He leaves behind his loving wife Diane, his precious grandchildren Dylan and Dee Dee (Diana) Forsman, daughter in law Tori Forsman, sister Carol Tornroos, brother Jef (Pam) Forsman, brother in law Ralph Kelley, brother in law Greg Stehr (Sharlena) and many nieces and nephews whom he thought the world of.
Tom was loved and admired by so many and will be remembered for his gentle nature, friendly spirit, his warmth, kindness and good sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
