Vera Genevieve Rome was born on January 3rd, 1926 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to Malcom Adam McLeod and Bertha Ann Chaffer.
She passed peacefully in her sleep from natural causes on January 18th, 2023 at her home in Marysville, Washington.
She graduated from high school in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
She married Stanley T. A. Rome on February 5, 1944. They had 3 children together, and six grandchildren.
Vera worked for General Telephone in Everett, Washington for several years. She also attended Trinity Episcopal Church for over 75 years.
Vera loved knitting, playing Bridge, golfing, playing games with other residents at Washington Oaks Retirement Community, and attending ice hockey games with her granddaughter Jana.
Vera was very active, pleasant, and fun. She loved her children, grandchildren, and Canadian family, including several beloved nieces and nephews. She was a good sport and always enjoyed a good joke.
Preceding Vera in death are her beloved husband Stanley, her loving parents Malcolm and Bertha, her brother Malcolm, and her sister Mona.
Surviving Vera and keeping her memory alive are her 3 children: Russell Stanley Rome, David Allen Rome, and Donna Louise Rome, and her 6 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Trinity Episcopal Church at 2301 Hoyt Avenue in Everett, Washington.
